Role: Electrical Engineer – Defence Systems 

Salary: £48,000–£53,000 + bonus and benefits (see below)
Location: Hybrid (2–3 days on-site)

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer / Architect to support the development of advanced Laser Systems. The Electrical Engineer will define and coordinate the electrical architecture across the programme, ensuring alignment between system requirements, design authorities and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Electrical Architect and technical interface with equipment Design Authorities

  • Define and manage electrical requirements across the project

  • Coordinate technical decisions with internal teams and external suppliers

  • Support system-level equipment integration and acceptance

  • Manage supplier SOWs and lead technical review meetings

  • Contribute to design reviews (PDR, DDR, CDR) and engineering lifecycle activities

  • Monitor schedule, cost, quality and performance for assigned work packages

  • Identify and mitigate technical risks

Desirable Experience

  • Systems engineering and requirements management

  • Electrical systems design, wiring or installation

  • Knowledge of electrical standards and regulations

  • Experience with testing, verification and certification

  • Technical reporting and configuration management tools
